Award Winners!

Two weeks ago during the opening celebrations of our A Symphony in Watercolour Exhibit, the awards given by the jurors Peter Marsh CSPWC, OSA, SCA, TWS, Anne McCartney CSPWC, AWS, TWSA and Rainbow Ze (youth juror) were announced.  We are so grateful for all of our sponsors and the numerous prizes that we were able to give out!

Rockwell/Eureka Awards!

We have three more very exciting awards to announce for our Symphony in Watercolour Exhibition. Thank you to RockWell and Eureka Global Art for donating these generous awards!

The RockWell/Eureka Award 1- will win the Award to participate in an event in China, with other International Masters. The trip will be totally free (some conditions apply), and a free Rockwell Master solid water color set of 24 colors.

The RockWell/ Eureka Award 2- will win the full accommodation Award to participate in an event in China, with other International Masters, (some conditions apply), and a free Rockwell Master solid water color set of 12 colors.

The RockWell/Eureka Award 3- The 3rd top Artist, will win a free Rockwell Master solid water color set of 12 colors.

QoR Modern Watercolour Award!

Some very lucky artist is going to win the QoR Modern Watercolour Award at our ‘A Symphony in Watercolour’ Exhibition which opens on September 28th at Boynton House, on Richmond Green, Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Thank you QoR Modern Watercolors by Golden from all of us at IWS Canada and CSPWC/SCPA.

Golden Artist Colors will also have a booth on our opening day with representative Bianka Guna demonstrating products.

DeSerres Award!

Some very lucky artist is going to win the DeSerres Award at our Symphony in Watercolour Exhibition which opens September 28th at Boynton House, on Richmond Green, Richmond Hill, Ontario.  It includes a wealth of Fabriano and Arches paper and several other goodies too.

Thank you DeSerres from all of us at IWS Canada and CSPWC/SCPA!

DeSerres will also have a booth on our opening day and have supplied some paper for our visiting master artists to use for their plein air painting that day. They are also helping to run the ‘Let’s try Watercolour ‘ Activity at the Richmond Hill Central Library on September 29th.

Richmond Hill Creative Eye Awards!

The Richmond Hill Creative Eye have made these four beautiful Love and Peace themed pendants as awards for four lucky artists in our ‘A Symphony in Watercolour’ Exhibition (September 28-October 27, 2018).  The awards will be announced at our opening event on September 28th at Boynton House on Richmond Green.

Daniel Smith Awards!

DANIEL SMITH: Artists’ Materials have very kindly donated 3 awards for our Symphony in Watercolour Exhibition. The awards will be announced at our opening event on September 28th at Boynton House on Richmond Green. Katherine Taylor will also be there to demo Daniel Smith products to our visitors.

Rosemary & Co. Brushes!

Look what arrived yesterday in the mail – our first award which will be given to one of the finalists in our A Symphony of Watercolour exhibition this fall in Richmond Hill!

There are approximately $100 worth of brushes here for the selected recipient, and the booklets and catalogues are for us to give out to attendees.

Thank you very much, Rosemary & Co., for sponsoring us with this beautiful set of handmade artist brushes!

‘A Symphony in Watercolour‘, an international exhibition and festival, jointly presented by IWS Canada and the CSPWC/SCPA, takes place September 28th – October 27th, 2018.  There will be opening celebrations for 5 days at the beginning of the event and a special closing celebration at the end.  Please join us!

Congratulations Anne McCartney!

We shall interrupt our series of featured members with this bit of breaking news:

Our IWS Canada Regional Director, Anne McCartney, has received news today that her painting ‘Art for Art’s Sake’ has been selected for the Gold Medal of Honor, i.e. the top award, at the American Watercolor Society’s 151st juried international exhibition this year.

Says Anne, “I am black and blue all over I can’t stop pinching myself”. This is the kind of excitement  all of us would feel in her position.  The award itself is worth, aside from the prestige, $4000 US.  The exhibition takes place at the well-known Salmagundi Club in New York City from April 9 to April 28, 2018.

We are truly thrilled for Anne, and so lucky to have her on our team.  In addition, she will be a juror for our own IWS Canada/CSPWC international exhibition ‘A Symphony in Watercolour’, this fall in Richmond Hill, Ontario.  The deadline is March 20 – don’t forget to enter!
